We’re looking for a project manager!

Founded in December 2021, Agence PhDesign is a young communications agency dedicated to the research community. Our mission is to work with researchers to increase the reach and visibility of research in society. Our team brings together skills in digital solutions, graphic design, communications, content creation, website design and research methodology. We generally work in pairs: one person specializing in production (e.g. graphic designer, videographer) and one person specializing in research. What brings us together: a passion for bringing research and society closer together, agility and creativity in carrying out our projects, simplicity in our processes and relationships, and humility in recognizing the plurality of knowledge (scientific knowledge is a form of knowledge).

We’re looking for someone with a passion for communications to support the agency’s mission.

Main tasks:

  • Contact research teams to present our services;
  • Analysis of research teams’ needs and context (stakeholder mapping and identification of target audiences);
  • Project management involving working closely with designers (graphic artists, videographers, etc.) to produce products, following up with them, acting as a link between designers and research teams;
  • Projects based on the candidate’s expertise (social media management, preparation of communication or knowledge transfer plans, graphic design, website prototyping),
  • Involvement in the preparation of quotations and reminders in collaboration with the in-house team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Preparation of publications on social media with planner – preparation of a publication calendar for blog posts and definition of an editorial strategy.

Are you the person we’re looking for?

As a small, close-knit team, we need someone who shares our values and is convinced that making scientific knowledge more accessible, fun and reusable can have a positive impact on the world around us. To achieve this, we need someone who is proactive, autonomous and creative (all creativity is welcome at PhDesign!).

The main advantages of joining our team :

  • Hold a degree in communications, graphic design, knowledge transfer, web development or another discipline relevant to the agency’s mandate;
  • Have a good knowledge of the research world in Quebec;
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec research network;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken French, very good understanding of English;
  • Excellent ability to analyze and synthesize scientific writings and popularize them;
  • A good sense of organization and responsibility;
  • Political acumen and the ability to reconcile divergent interests;
  • Group and meeting facilitation skills.

Working conditions :

  • 14h per week to start with (gradual increase to full-time if desired)
  • 6-month renewable term
  • Start as soon as possible
  • Telecommuting (ideally close to Montreal), with flexible hours to reconcile work and family life. Salary to be determined
