The Sustainable Infrastructure and Geoengineering Lab (SiGLab), headed by Dr. Pooneh Maghoul, stands out for its research and development programs focused on underground systems in a multi-hazard context. To support this cutting-edge mission, SiGLab teamed up with Agence PhDesign to redesign its website, with the aim of creating a digital platform to match its scientific ambitions.
How do you transform an existing platform into a digital space that's both intuitive and inspiring? This was the challenge taken up by Agence PhDesign when it completely redesigned the SiGLab website.
Having already created visual identity for SiGLabOur team integrated these elements into the new website in a coherent and innovative way. The result? A modernized design that combines aesthetics and functionality, facilitating access to information for research teams, the student community and research and innovation partners.
"Our aim was to make research more visible and attractive to a diverse audience," explains Coralie, one of the team's graphic designers.
Prior to the redesign, SiGLab's website struggled to reflect the vitality and scope of the laboratory's research. Today, thanks to a complete overhaul, the new site presents a clear, modern and welcoming interface. Visitors are now greeted by attractive visuals and a redesigned structure that showcase SiGLab's excellence.

What are the secrets to making complex scientific content accessible to a wide range of audiences?
Working closely with Dr. Maghoul, we have revised all the texts to reflect not only the complexity of the research carried out, but also its relevance and impact (simplifying content, improving clarity, adapting tone, etc.). The new site highlights SiGLab's innovative projects, while offering intuitive navigation and simplified access to key information.
"Our priority was to make the site functional and engaging, so that every visitor could easily access SiGLab's information and research projects," explains Feriel, the team's editor.
To further engage the academic community, a student portal has been added, providing a dedicated space for young researchers to access resources, grants and research opportunities. This portal, combined with a dynamic interface, positions the SiGLab site as a genuine platform for knowledge exchange and dissemination.
"We wanted to create a central hub for students, a place where they can connect, learn and grow," Dr. Maghoul emphasizes.
What if your website could be more than just a showcase? Thanks to this redesign, SiGLab now has a modern tool for communicating its progress and attracting new talent and partners.
