Founded by Dr. Pooneh Maghoul, the Sustainable Infrastructure and Geoengineering Lab(SIGLab) is distinguished by its cutting-edge research and development programs focused on underground systems in a multi-hazard context. Dr. Maghoul is recognized as an international expert in geotechnics and multi-scale poromechanics for complex materials, energy and the environment.
SIGLab teamed up with Agence PhDesign to create a powerful visual identity, expressed through a logo that reflects the laboratory's core values and a graphic charter that embodies its vision and commitment to cutting-edge research.
This creative process called on our expertise in the following areas:
Our creative approach was to capture the essence of SIGLab, highlighting its dedication to innovation, social impact and mentoring within the scientific community, while incorporating futuristic and mechanical elements to attract the student community.
The light bulb, as a shining symbol of innovation, takes center stage in the logo, representing the pioneering spirit that drives SIGLab.
Strong, modern straight lines have been carefully integrated into the logo design. They contribute to the simplicity and visual power of the whole, underlining SIGLab's contemporary and dynamic approach.
The strategic integration of colors in the logo is in keeping with Polytechnique Montréal's identity. The harmonious gradations of green and blue reflect the company's commitment to the environment and sustainable development, while the shades of orange-red evoke the infrastructure and geomechanical aspects.
