The Quebec Interuniversity Centre for Social Statistics (CIQSS) plays an essential role in quantitative health and social research in Quebec. To better meet the needs of its research community, the CIQSS has entrusted the Agence PhDesign the complete overhaul of its website, with the aim of making it more functional and accessible.
The main objective of this redesign was to rethink the site's interface and architecture to make it more functional and intuitive. In collaboration with the dynamic CIQSS team, Agence PhDesign worked on the structure and navigation to provide fluid access to key information: data access procedures, training courses, scholarships, as well as publications and events. The design was streamlined to facilitate consultation and allow for regular updates.
"The redesign of the CIQSS website aims to effectively meet the needs of our research community by offering an intuitive and functional platform. This project, carried out in collaboration with Agence PhDesign, reinforces our commitment to making data and resources accessible and easy to navigate for all our users," explains Magali Girard, General Manager.
In addition to content optimization, several features have been added to enhance the user experience. These include the integration of the ZotPress which, thanks to its connection with Zotero - a bibliographic management tool widely used by researchers - enables the CIQSS team to automatically update scientific publications on the website.
What's more, the addition of an interactive calendar makes it easier to register for training courses, conferences and midi-webinars organized by the CIQSS. These new options simplify the management of community activities and reinforce the collaborative aspect of the site.
"The idea was to make information accessible in as few clicks as possible, while ensuring intuitive navigation for the CIQSS community," explains the graphics team.
The new bilingual site meets the specific needs of the research community, while being tailored to federal and provincial civil servants. Thanks to a clear structure and fluid interface, it is now easier to access data, register for events or consult information on grants and job offers.
Developed under WordPressThe site offers a great deal of flexibility, enabling the CIQSS team to manage and modify its content with complete autonomy. Whether publishing a new training course or updating the calendar, the platform is designed to evolve with the center's needs. Hosted in Canada in facilities powered by renewable energies, the site combines performance and respect for the environment.
